ShopperLocal has sued a former employee for speaking out about what he feels is unethical behavior after termination. ShopperLocal reversed his last paycheck after leaving the company and the former employee started blogging about his post employment interactions with the company. He refused to return equipment that was used during the course of his position with ShopperLocal due to them reversing his last paycheck.
ShopperLocal and its parent company has sued the former employee for defamation, false light, over payment and return of equipment. The only part of the lawsuit that has any merit is the equipment return but they have completely overstated the value of said equipment.
The main focus of this lawsuit appears to be the libel claims by ShopperLocal,LLC and Eli Global, LLC they are using Mr Rushing’s personal blog, this site and a new site called Chilling Impact as the basis for their defamation claims. Mr Rushing on many occasions has brought forward the fact that their inhouse legal counsel Anthony Palazzo has been cited for ethics violations and was suspended multiple times from practicing for these violations. The former employee brings these facts to light after repeated threats from Anthony Palazzo under the guise of ShopperLocal.
ShopperLocal has also on multiple occasions brought forth requests for Temporary Restraining Orders to stop Rushing from publishing here and other locations. Rushing’s contention is this is a violation of many constitutional amendments namely the 1st, 4th and 14th. We will cover these constitutional violations in a future post.
ShopperLocal has a long history of filing suits or being a party to litigation. It would appear they are stubbornly litigious.
